Our Fundamental Skills Assessment (FSA) is designed to gauge a student’s overall understand of the “building blocks” of mathematics. Without a thorough understanding of these skills most students will struggle with higher levels of mathematics. This particular Diagnostic Assessment will determine a student’s understanding of such concepts as the Number Line, Operations with Fractions, Decimals, Percents, Positive & Negative Integers, Order of Operations and much more. If the student is struggling with High School Mathematics there is a good possibility that he or she may have a shaky understanding of the math fundamentals. If the your child is in grade 6 or above and scores less than 75% on this assessment, we would suggest that you move forward with purchasing one of our structured packages or become a member and allow us to help your student develop a better understanding of the Fundamentals of Math.
The Independent School Entrance Exam (I.S.E.E.) is a standard assessment of skills for each applicant, ranking his or her reasoning and achievement skills in comparison to other students on the same Grade Level. This particular exam is given to students who would like to attend, in most cases, a high performing Private or Independent school. We’ve found, over time, that many parents do not know about this exam or know that it contains material that would challenge a student on the 9th Grade Level; the exam is commonly given to students in grades 5 & 6. Due to this fact we have developed an entire program to FIRST test to see how your child would perform on the math portion of the I.S.E.E. and to, SECONDLY, conduct to a workshop to prepare them for the exam itself. Our I.S.E.E. Readiness Assessment consists of 50 questions that will gauge a student’s understanding of specific concepts that will appear on the actual exam. It is commonly used by our clients to determine if they should enroll their child into one of our I.S.E.E. Readiness Workshops that take place from time-to-time throughout the school year.
